All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! And so, the participants of this OP arranged to take the day off and venture into the Ngong Hills, made famous by Karen Blixen’s quotation, “I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of the Ngong Hills.”
The Brothers left St. Joseph’s Centre around 9.00 am and arrived without delay at the first of the hills. Fortunately, the bus took them up the first hill as it consists of a very long slope that can sap the energy before you begin the real climb.
The day was ideal for walking – a cool breeze and a cloudy sky meant that one could walk without having to contend with the hot sun!
Having said that, only six intrepid walkers succeeded in finishing the walk while the rest stopped along the way, satisfied that they had had enough exercise for the day.
The day concluded with a very tasty picnic, and as we journeyed home, everyone was grateful for having had a lovely group experience.
