Friday morning was devoted to a session on group dynamics. While the Advanced Skills Training deals mainly with the various competencies that Brothers will need for their ministry, it is important not to lose sight of the community dimension of their lives. How often it can happen that Brothers are so engaged with ministry that they find if difficult to spend time reflecting on the quality of their community lives. In many cases, the ministry flourishes while the community dimension struggles to be as rich as it is meant to be.
So, David held a session with the group, reflecting together on how the group is working. Many in the group shared that such sessions could be very valuable and should form part of the AST programme.
Maybe communities could avail of facilitators to provide a safe forum to discuss how the community is going, and how Brothers can form vibrant and cohesive communities of gentleness, compassion, intimacy and love!
