Time Structure in Community

The morning prayer took the theme of community, and was based on an extract from Jean Vanier’s book Community and Growth. The extract empahasised the idea of ‘Me for Community’ and not ‘Community for me’.

Then, the teams who had been working on timetables for life in community, shared each of the timetables which were then critiqued by the other teams.  This exercise was a very useful way to discuss the importance of a balanced lifestyle which would place equal emphasis on ministry and community living.

As the sessions came to close the Brothers shared on the overall workshop, indicating how necessary it is for any community who receives a new member to consider the community a new community and to draw up a timetable that respects the needs and concerns of everyone.
